The consortium consists of 5 partner organizations and 3 relay offices. The consortium can be summarized as follows:

Partner organizations of the Project are active within 17 cities in NUTS3 level that are falling under these two NUTS1 regions. These are; Malatya, Elazig, Bingol, Tunceli, Van, Mus, Bitlis, Hakkari, Gaziantep, Adiyaman, Kilis, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Mardin, Batman, Sirnak, Siirt. In these regions there are totally 164,000 SMEs which are supposed to benefit from the services to be given within the framework of the Project. There are three relay offices within the structure of Adıyaman, Sanlıurfa, and Diyarbakır Chambers of Commerce and Industry. These relay offices are engaged with partners in Gaziantep.
As the whole consortiums of the Project, GAPSUN aims to transform Turkish SME’s from the point where there produce low value added products with inefficient methods mostly operating in local markets to the point where they open to international markets with technologically advanced innovative products. Besides,
GAPSUN aims;
- To raise awareness - in particular among SMEs in the region – regarding Community policy issues and services offered by the network, including the improvement of environmental awareness and eco-efficiency of SMEs and the Cohesion Policy and Structural funds,
- Assisting SMEs to develop cross-border activities and international networking by developing trans-national co-operation between SMEs in our region and the SMEs abroad and to help them finding suitable business partners to expand their business and enter new markets,
- Supporting SMEs to find relevant partners from the private or public sectors through appropriate tools,
- To disseminate information and raise awareness regarding innovation-related policies, legislations, and support programs,
- To provide brokerage services for technology and knowledge transfer, and for partnership building between all kinds of innovation actors, stimulating the capacity of firms, especially SMEs for innovation,
- To increase the participation of the SME’s in European programs especially in FP7,
- To assist and advise SMEs in the region to benefit from European programs and initiatives; increasing the competitive power of the SMEs in South East Anatolia and Middle East Anatolia regions in Turkey,
- To inform SMEs about the technological developments and provide them to benefit from know-how transfer in international markets,
- To inform and assist SMEs in the preparation and coordination of project proposals for the participation in the Community Framework Program for RTD,
- To encourage the SMEs to write project proposals for making use of EU funds
